Deacon Council
Purpose (Scope of Ministry): To serve with the pastors and staff in performing pastoral ministry tasks; proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers; care for Church members and other persons in the community; lead the Church to engage in a fellowship of worship, witness, education, ministry, and application; and lead the Church in performing its tasks.
The Deacon Council is a Christ-centered ministry of servant leadership, grounded in the heart of pastoral care and Gospel proclamation. Deacons minister alongside the pastors and staff to meet spiritual, emotional, and practical needs within the church family and community. Whether visiting the sick, guiding new members, comforting the grieving, or stewarding resources for benevolence and missions, deacons help the body of Christ grow in unity, compassion, and faithful witness.
Deacons extend the love of Christ through prayer, personal care, and practical support, freeing pastors to focus on preaching and equipping. Each ministry area—from hospital visits to benevolence to reclaiming inactive members—exists to ensure that no one is forgotten and that the church stays healthy, vibrant, and mission-focused.
If God is calling you to serve by leading with humility, caring deeply for others, and helping the church fulfill its calling to worship, witness, and minister well, consider the sacred responsibility of the Deacon Council. Your service will strengthen the church and bring glory to Christ.
