Why I serve: I've been called to ministry, and specifically student ministry, since I was 17. My youth pastor had a profound effect on me and I believe God has equipped me to do the same with the students at SMRBC. My lifelong desire is to see our young people find their identity in Christ first and foremost, and then grow to make Him known around the world.
Favorite Bible verse: Psalm 16:11 - "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Fun fact: My dad was from New Zealand, and because of this, I pretty much only watch sports that are not American: rugby, football (soccer), cricket, tennis, etc. My favorite sports teams are the All Blacks and Liverpool Football Club.
If you could meet anyone in the Bible apart from Jesus, who would it be? So many...obviously the big ones (Abraham, Moses, David, Paul etc.). But, one lesser known person I'd really like to meet would be Simeon from Luke 2.
Why I think having a student ministry in the church is beneficial: Students have so much unlocked potential when it comes to serving and being the Church. Imagine what it would look like to see a group of students who are so rooted in Christ that they are transforming their communities and culture through the Gospel. Imagine what it would look like to see them leading the church by example. It's possible...and that's what our student ministry is aiming to do.
