On Tuesday, March 16th, SMRBC members committed and filled a day of prayer in a prayer vigil on the sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood at 201 N Hamilton St. This was part of a campaign called 40 Days for Life.

SMRBC members signed up for one, or sometimes multiple, hour time slots between 7 AM and 7 PM and covered the whole day in prayer to end abortion.

It was a peaceful and sometimes somber day, filled with a mixture of prayer, tears, sharing, and both waves of support and a few yells and gestures of anger from those who passed by. Everyone who participated was renewed in their resolve to pray for God's intervention to end abortion, and to pray for those who are considering abortion and those who facilitate it.

40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated 40-day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of abortion businesses. This year, it began on February 17th and will continue through March 28th.

The visible, public centerpiece of 40 Days for Life is a focused, 40-day, non-stop, round-the-clock prayer vigil outside a single Planned Parenthood center.
