At SMRBC, missions is central to who we are and shapes everything we do as a church. This missions priority and passion shows up in our praying, giving, sending, and going.
We pray fervently for the unreached peoples of the world and for those sent out to reach them with the good news. We give cheerfully and sacrificially to support mission efforts. Through God’s grace and enabling, SMRBC is consistently one of the top giving churches per capita to the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board annual offerings. From 2006 to 2020 we have given over $1.2 million to missions through the LMCO offering. This year’s goal is $143,000. God has brought the nations to us. We have teams who work with immigrants each week, teaching English and meeting other practical needs. We do this in the name of Jesus so that our foreign-born friends have the opportunity to meet their Savior through us.
SMRBC is excited to provide the Mizell House, a temporary home for SMRBC-sent missionaries to stay in close to the church while they are in the United States. It is named in honor of SMRBC member Cyd Mizell* who was martyred while serving as a Christian aid worker in Central Asia in 2008. If you're one of our SMRBC families serving overseas, you can learn more and reserve your time at the Mizell House with the following documents:
You can check the Mizell House Calendar for tentative occupancy and availability, though the most up-to-date information and final availability is always provided by the SMRBC Missions Committee after completing a request form.
You can get more information or submit your reservation request to Pastor Tommy at tknighten@smrbc.org.
*for more information about Cyd Mizell, see this NBC News article.
